Research Projects

Mermaid research activities are based on individual projects carried out by the PhD fellows.

The projects focus on one or several of the systems that contribute to closing the urban water cycle, from used (waste) water treatment to the final consumer of potable water.

The projects are additionally organized in work packages (WP) that aim at answering some of the great scientific challenges in microbial resource management:

The projects culminate in WP4, with the aim to lift barriers to practical implementation of microbial resource management-based technologies.
